Fort William MTB World Championships updates

After years of planning, preparation and waiting, the World Championships finally hits Fort William. The build up is on all week but all the action happens this weekend. This article will be home to the weekends updates.

Some people are lucky enough to be up in the Fort right now, as I type, drinking in the atmosphere (and probably not just that). A few people are even up there thanks to our Nissan ticket competition.

Most people, however, are facing a weekend sitting at home instead of tramping up the steep hillside of Fort William. Instead of watching some of the Worlds' fastest riders in person, you'll have to settle for your action in the virtual format.

If you are in the second camp, - we're trying our best to put all our coverage in one place - this article.

First up is the event calendar so you can get a feel for what's going on when, just to help you keep your finger on the pulse. Unfortunately the highlights are on Sunday so dedicated fans will have to miss some riding.

To get the adrenaline pumping, we're streaming live footage from the 4X and DH. 4X is on Friday night and DH starts on Sunday lunch time. If you aren't on line, tune in (or set the digibox or vcr) to BBC 2 on Sunday afternoon at 2pm for televised coverage and highlights from the weekend.

And last, but by no means least, James Porteous is on site armed with tonnes of camera gear, catching the motion and hopefully brining us some excellent photos and maybe event some words after he's got down the hill and downloaded his memory cards.

Use the menu top right to access the pages. More will be added as we go along. Phew! Enjoy, and have a good one!

Go on the Brits!
