KIS is dead! RIP (it up)
2002 Update - Since this article, KIS found a new home which also fell foul of the 'nimby' attitude and has been closed as well. At the start of 2002 KIS does not exist and BSX is suffering. The websites are down and Graham is AWOL.
KIS Promosport have been asked to leave the site at Freams Farm, Cranham in Gloucestershire due to pressure put on him by a couple of local moaner's. They have been pestering him and the local county Council ever since we opened. Graham Foot of KIS found out this terrible news when ho went down to the farm to discuss plan's for the 2001 season and the expansion of the venue, only to be met with this bomb-shell.
This was about 4 weeks ago. Since then we have got over the depression stage, says Graham, and are now looking for a new site, bigger and better than the present one. So all is not doom and gloom, this may be a good move for us says Graham as this site was not really ideal.
The closing date for the site is September 18th the day after the number one event of this year, THE NATIONAL BICYCLE SUPERCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS. This event is the one to come to if you want to see some real head to head racing.
Date is 16-17th September, Event timetable is...
Saturday 16th
2000 Ultimate Dual - 2 rider dual action open to all. No need to be a member of either the BCF or BDRA to race. Just turn up with helmet, pads, bike and ride.
Saturday night - IDENTITI King Of Dirt open to all again. 2 classes big prizes from IDENTITI, Spy and XENO plus more...
Also ...Big End of Season Party all welcome, free entry.
Sunday 17th
Hopefully if all have recovered from the party the Final Round of the National BSX Champs will takes place with a revamped course with even more features to thrill the riders and the crowds. This event will rock the socks off all previous KIS events with no need to worry about upsetting the neighbours as we leave the next day. Plenty of noise and loads of action promised for this the day we crown the number one BSX riders in the UK. Other stuff going down includes an awesome BMX KOD comp organised by Pashley Cycles in conjunction with Kye Forte - UK's number 1 dirt jumper.
Put this date in your diaries folks - 16 & 17th September 2000 - and get along to KIS. Details on www.kispromo.com or phone 01452 612904.
