Just wondered if anyone else has been checking out the Bike Tree? Good looking shop with loads of nice kit, good mechanics and a chilled vibe. Good adition to the Sheffield scene I reckon....
Unfortunately I couldn't get up there in time for the meeting but did turn up for the ride.
Massive turnout, lots of folk there so hopefully Roy from the Wildlife Trust got some good feedback. Turns out I know him from University!
Anyway, he led a ride and is keen to see the woods used by bikers. The trails were wicked so I'm definitely going to explore further. The potential is great and for once it doesn't look like there will be any issues with the land owners!
Oh, and respect to Craig for hitting the quarry drop with a big audience!
Due to work commitments i couldnt make it wednesday but would be interested in any info on the developments in greno woods. Rode in there the weekend before for the first time in ages & had a right laugh.
I won't write an essay here, so as an overview -8 months old, owned from new, less than average usage for it's age. -Fastidiously serviced and looked after by myself, a professional engineer/ex-bike mechanic -Wrapped in bike protector from new (now removed) -Fork services on average every 3 rides. - Bike is sold with the fork oil and grease used. -Just had a complete rebuild. -Gears work perfectly - as they should with full X0 kit. -Wheels are straight and round. -New rear rim/wheel build. - I won't lie...I managed to puncture whilst riding through a rock garden. Resulting in dings to the rim that the bike couldn't be sold with! -New grips. -Front High roller supertacky - part worn -Rear Minion F - part worn -Comes with all the spares a new bike does (pad separators/swingarm spacer..etc)
Bad points - Worn paint on the right hand-middle chainstay/both crank arms. Caused by my "unique" riding style resulting in my shoes rubbing paint away. - Paint chips around the bottom bracket area (see pictures). - 2 small dents in front rim. - Scratches on the end of the crank arms, as they protruded more than my super thin pedals!
Overall a brilliant bike, in used but good condition. Weighs in at a shade under 39lbs with pedals and is fantastic to ride!
PLEASE NOTE - The paint is as good as the day it left the factory, my camera is just rubbish, hence the faded looking paint!
Priced at £2750 ONO. I will NOT be splitting it.

Don't forget about the Greno woods stakeholder meeting (just for mountain bikers!) Wed 18th August at 6.30pm (that's tomorrow!) – meet at the Wharncliffe/Greno/Wheata carpark off the Woodhead Road.
The wildlife trust are going to explain the current situation with the Wildlife Trust and the woods and say a bit about our aspirations for the woods followed by a ride round to get an idea of what’s already there and valued by mtn bikers and ask people for thoughts and ideas for the future.
The stakeholder meeting for Greno Woods is on the 18th August at 6.30pm, bring bikes and have a chat about how you think it should work best for bikers.
