You’ll need to get your hand in your pocket first…

£1000 investment....

$200,000 purchase price...

115 investers and it could be game on!

I thought about investing - but don't have a spare £1000!  Very tempting to be part of this, though...

If I had a spare grand I'd be happy to invest in this.

Sadly I don't :(

How about a collective effort?

£20 each for 1/50th of a gravity-slaves share? ;)

Any financial return in the form of share earnings on the project will go back into the site (improving coverage, adding features, investor shop discounts etc.) - any refunds or ultimate profit from sale of the share go directly back to the investors.

Would that mean 1 person a week got the season ticket lol.

I'd be up for putting some money towards a collective effort but couldn't afford it straight away.

Reckon Electric, THE etc. would be up for putting money forward aswell?

Although if Gravity Slaves members were all putting in £20 i'd be inclined to say it'd be better spent on WRC than a project most of us will benifit little if anything from with no guarrante of it even happening.

Reckon I'd chip in a bit if/when I've got any going spare....  Can I choose which week I get?

Seriously though - there's almost 1300 registered users on this site - I'm sure we could get somewhere between us.

well to be honest we're thinking of chucking in £1000 on our own.  this is a seriously good project - obviously it'd be better if it wasn't in south wales.......... bit nearer us.

very very interesting indeed, shame it's a long way from sheffield...

how long does it take to get to rheola then?? is the hill big enough?

lets face it lads, it's cheaper than a set of fox 40s!!!

This would be great, although i agree with col, it could be a bit nearer for us. However having something like this in the uk would be excellent.
400 shares at a grand a shot, 200 grand for a used chairlift leaves 200 grand to ship it over here (this i imagine would cost a packet) then have it errected (another huge expense) so how much would be left over to actually develop/construct the park itself?
Excellent idea and i hope it comes off. Id happily lob in a few quid should there be a GS Syndicate. Although i think it will be a good few years before there is any definate progress. Good luck to mojo;)

yeah, but it's postulated that the welsh assembly would match £s for £s invested. that does leave enough cash to develop the hill....

these development funds / grants seem really good, shame they dont have them for yorkshire!

I'm gonna read it through properly, find out what the long term profit predition is, I can afford to give a grand for a few years and get it back, but I can't afford to loose it for ever, but, if  it's all sound I will put in for a share, mayby 5 ;D.  Think of the long term benifts as well, if there is one in South Wales, then how long  till North Wales jumps on board?

I'm fairly sure it is easy to set up an informal Share club/investment club, as long as you all get back the same share you put in, if it's an £100 you only need 10 peeps,  you could set max investment at £200, min to come in a £10 first come first served till you get to a grand.

Why stop at a grand?   Jason is currently suggesting £1K as a minimum.

One caveat I would add is that the guarantee is for a chairlift, not for a profit.

Sounds awesome.  Would be well up for chimping to the collective pot if only i wasn't a student.

If they get this then it could stimulate interest for a chair at innerleithen- not sure what stage they're at with that one?

Even without a full park it would still be worthwhile.  Fort Bill only has one track and that still does pretty well.  They could start off with one track and develop it slowly- they could even start the development now surely?

There should be an old chairlift going spare when they redevelop Sheffield dry ski slope.  Perhaps we could get it moved to Wharncliffe  ;D
